Captain Emily Scott led Stanford U12’s to a sensational start to the season, winning both the Dartford tournament and all their games. Stanford enjoyed victories over Upminster 15-10, Barbarians 25-0, Old Dartfordians 10-0 and New Ash Green 25-10. Try scorers were Rhys Smith Allen 4, Luke Hawkes 3, Jack Payne 2, Mitchell Stanley 2, Ben Street 2, Kieran Ferguson and Jordan Harper.

The U8’s beat Old Dartfordians 15-10, New Ash Green 15-5 and in the decider lost 25-20 to Upminster in the last move of the match. Tries by Dominic McDonald 3, Sean Bunney 3, James Kitchen 2, Jacob Dennis and Connor Lalieu in an excellent team performance. All the hard work during the training sessions is paying off. Thanks to all the parents for their support.

Stanford’s U9's made a promising start with their first venture into contact rugby. They won their first game by 20-15 against Upminster 2nds, lost 25-15 against Upminster 1st team and lost 20-15 against the host club Dartfordians. All the players tackled hard and the coaches and parents were very impressed with how quickly they adapted to the full contact game. Well done everyone. For the record the try scorers were Ryan Edgeway 4, James Brown 4 and Tristan Barry 2.

Meanwhile, the U11 team also had a good day, starting with a narrow one try to nil loss to Darts, a 40-0 thrashing of Darts II, and a 10-0 win over New Ash Green. Scorers were Sam Hawkes 3, Jay Ingle 3, Nathan Hickey 2, David Tester and Lewis Tomkinson.

Training next week to prepare for the Upminster Festival in a fortnights time.
