Stanford U9/10's comfortably beat Basildon U9/10s in an exciting game at Stanford Recreation Ground. Strong running by the Stanford backs led to first half tries from centre James Brown and fly half Tristan Barry. Basildon came back strongly and scored a good individual try to make it 10-5 at half time. Stout defence by Stanford, especially from Carla Harper and Sophie Young kept Stanford ahead and in the last few minutes of the game Stanford extended their lead with another super try from the Stanford captain James Brown.
Final score was Stanford 15 Basildon 5.
The U11's played Basildon U11s and were unlucky to lose their match after letting a try through in the first half. They virtually camped on the Basildon line without ever managing to cross it. It took a strong Basildon defence to stop Stanford’s many attacks.
Final score was Stanford 0 Basildon 5.
