On a blustery, chilly morning, Stanford U8’s held their own against Eton Manor A, who are unbeaten this season, and were 20-20 going into the last five minutes. Unfortunately, Stanford ran out of steam to lose 35-20. In the match against Eton Manor B, good defence by Sean Bunney, Connor Lalieu and James Wade resulted in a 20-20 draw, and Stanford were unlucky not to win.

Scorers were Dominic McDonald 5, James Kitchen 2 and Ryan Quinn 1.

The U11 squad has had such a recent influx of new players that they were able to field two sides against an experienced Eton Manor squad, losing the first match 20-0 and the second 10-0. They need to recruit six more players to regularly field two sides. This is very encouraging, as Stanford struggled to field one U11 side at the start of the season.

Injury-hit Stanford U12’s faced a strong Eton Manor side, who produced some very good rugby with the wind behind them in the first half, scoring four tries. In the second half, Stanford came back strongly, but could not force a score, with the match finishing 25-0 to Eton Manor.
